About Me

I'm Angela Pryor

Angela Pryor has a BFA and an MFA in Painting from the San Francisco Art Institute in San Francisco, California. Her art studies started years before in Argentina where she was raised. She returned to the USA as an adult where she has been living for the last 22 years.

Her primary medium is oil, yet she works comfortably in most traditional mediums. Her interest lies in portraying the complexity of humanity and culture, and the ways in which memory, education, and cultural awareness affect our interactions with others and with our world's past, present, and future.

As an artist-activist, Angela researches the ways in which Art can be manipulated to produce deliberate ethical consciousness, including a critique of injustice, social hierarchies, and exclusion paradigms. Intentionally creating images that are perceived as approachable in their familiarity, once engaged, their purpose is to address, and even trigger a dialog between different perspectives.
